Frank C. Urraro
Frank C. Urraro, age 82, of Erie, died Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Erie, he was born March 3, 1927, a son of the late Gaetano and Antoinette Berarducci Urraro.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He owned and operated Erie Excavating and Grading Co., Frank C. Urraro Construction Co. and presently Urraro Oil Co. He was a lifelong member and past president of the Southwest Erie Lions Clubs and a member of McKean Township Sewer Authority and the University Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Scott Urraro, one brother and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marianne A. Vendetti Urraro of Erie; three daughters, Rebecca Kistle of Williamsburg, VA, Lisa McLallen and husband David of Erie and Anne Kelly and husband Robert of Charlotte, NC; two sons, Charles Urraro and wife Karen of Erie and Dr. Sergio "Curt" Urraro and wife Christina of Virginia Beach, VA; two brothers, Cajetan Urraro and Robert Urraro both of Erie and two sisters, Dolores Serra of Grosse Point, MI and Donna Simas of Franklin, MI. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Lance and Elizabeth Urraro, Justice Kistle, Hallie Maranchick, LCpl Ian McLallen USMC, Alexandra Urraro, Vincenzo Urraro, Carmen Goodson and Abigail Urraro; two great-grandchildren, Carly and Dominic Goodson and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a Service there on Thursday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peach RC Church, 2401 West 38th Street, at 10 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
