Frank M. Grimaldi
Frank Michael Grimaldi, age 72, of Palm Coast, FL, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021. He was born on February 26, 1949 in Pittsburgh, PA, and was adopted by the late Dr. Frank and Euphemia "Fay" Orlando Grimaldi of Erie, PA.
He was raised in Erie and went on to attend and graduate from the Randolph-Macon Academy, Class of 1968, where he enjoyed playing on the varsity football and baseball teams. He spent his career working in the food and beverage industry which took him to different parts of the world including France and St. Thomas Virgin Islands. This was a good fit for him as he had a love for traveling. Frank owned several small businesses including Doc's Tavern, the Blue Marlin Grill and Grimaldi's Deli and Bakery. He had success as Vice President of Purchasing for Hard Rock Café International, Food and Beverage Director for Orlando Entertains and District Manager for Vie De France. Throughout his life he was always pursuing new business ventures.
Frank loved to cook and created many of his own unique recipes. He also loved all kinds of sports and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and University of Pittsburgh fan. He returned to Erie to help care for his mother, Fay, several years before her passing, which enabled her to remain in her home on Greenfield Drive.
He will be remembered for his boisterous debates and outgoing personality, making many friends in his travels.
Frank was preceded in death by his father Dr. Frank Grimaldi in 1977 and his mother Euphemia "Fay" Orlando Grimaldi in 2014.
He is survived by his children, Elizabeth Medvis of Deltona, FL., Joshua Grimaldi of Palm Coast, FL., Adam Grimaldi of Winter Springs, FL., and Damon Grimaldi (Bobbi Dankert) of Flager Beach, FL.; his grandchildren, Breeze Marie Grimaldi and Samuel Day Grimaldi; his sister Robert Cain Conklin of Alexandria, VA.; and his nephew, Brandon Cain of Alexandria, VA. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
