Frank T. Santangelo
Frank T. Santangelo, 80, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at UPMC Hamot surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 30, 1936 in Erie, a son of the late Frank and Helen DiNicola Santangelo. He was a graduate of Cathedral Prep, Class of 1954, and served in the United States Navy as a Gunner's Mate from 1954 to 1958.
Frank was a Milkman for Sanida Dairy and then drove a truck for 30 years for Interstate Motor Freight, St. Johnsbury and Preston Trucking, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Local #397 Teamsters.
Frank was also a member of several breakfast groups with close friends from Prep, Panera, and the Teamsters. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church. He enjoyed golf and was a New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins Fan.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Miller Santangelo; sister, Theresa Marie Santangelo and stepdaughter, Christine Walter Yurkovic. He is survived by his wife, Joan Evans Santangelo of Erie; daughters, Lisa (Rick) Esters of Union City and Diane Santangelo of Anderson, SC; stepchildren, Gary (Susan) Miller of Erie, Judith Reynolds of Tampa, FL, Richard (Patricia) Miller of Erie, Daniel (Raini) Miller of Flower Mound, TX, Joseph (Mary) Miller of Meadville, Robert Evans of Tallahassee, FL, Timothy Evans, Eric Evans, and Susan Evans all of Erie; and Kathleen (Robert) Moliterno of Cincinnati, OH. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to call at the Our Lady of Peace Church, 2401 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16506, on Friday at 9 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Peace Church.
