Freda N. Stansberry Visalle

Freda N. Stansberry Visalle, 88, went peacefully home on Wednesday, September 12, 2007.

She was born July 17, 1919 in Moulton, Iowa, the daughter of the late Burton Stansberry and Gladys Cochran-Stansberry.

Freda worked as a dental assistant in Seymour, Iowa and also for the U.S. Military at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas. It was at Camp Chaffee that she met Anthony P. Visalle, as Sergeant in the U.S. Army and the two were married on December 15, 1945. Freda worked at Quinn-Berry Corporation in Erie. She also worked as an LPN for Little's Home and the Manor Home in Erie before retiring in 1981.

She will be remembered for her laughter and the laughter she brought to all who were around her. Freda enjoyed outings with her family and her patio and gardening. She loved animals of all kinds, especially her cat.

She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony, in 1991. Freda is survived by her three children, Charlotte A. Visalle-Stellato, of Erie, Anthony C. Visalle, Jr. and his wife, Theresa, Harborcreek, PA, and Edward B. Visalle and his wife Susan, of Erie, and a sister June Hill of Azusa, CA. She is survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul's RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday at 3 p.m.
