Gary J. Calabrese

Gary J. Calabrese, age 52, of Erie, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 5, 2011 at UPMC Hamot.

He was born October 22, 1958 in Bad Krueznach, Germany, a son of Gary M. Calabrese of Erie and the late Myrna E. Tuk Calabrese. He had worked for 31 years as an assembler and test specialist of high pressure equipment at Autoclave/Snaptite, Inc. In his youth he was an amateur boxer. Gary enjoyed his friends and shooting at the target range. He loved his cat Gabriel.

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a brother, Steven S. Calabrese and his grandparents, Vincent and Olga Tuk and Peter and Rose Calabrese

In addition to his father he is survived by one daughter, Christina M. Calabrese; one son, Anthony J. Calabrese and his former spouse, Carla A. Calabrese all of Erie.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Friday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Saint Paul Church, 1617 Walnut Street, Erie, PA 16502.
