George T. Colao

George T. Colao, age 55, of Erie, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at UPMC Hamot. He was born April 12, 1956 a son of Thomasina Bianco Colao of Erie and the late George J. Colao.

He was a graduate of Tech Memorial High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He also attended Edinboro University. He worked as a computer science teacher for the Erie school District for over 30 years. He was an avid musician and enjoyed golfing, skiing, nature, friends and family.

He is survived by three sons, Brandon George Colao and Ryan Anthony Colao both of Erie and Jared Thomas Colao of Florida; one sister, Christine Colao-Nickson; one niece, Ashley B. Colao and four nephews, Ken E. Nickson Jr. and wife Tica, Justin Fried and Nick Fried all of Erie.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a Funeral Mass on Monday at Sacred Heart RC Church, 816 West 26th Street, at Noon.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
