Geraldine A. Vanchieri Cacchione

Geraldine A. Vanchieri Cacchione, age 75, of Erie, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at her home after an extended illness.

She was born November 23, 1936 in Erie, a daughter of the late Sam and Mary K. Luciano Vanchieri. She was an office manager at Alley Aids for 30 years, retiring in 1999. She was an avid fan and supporter for all the sports teams that her sons played for and coached.

She was preceded in death by a brother Vincent S. Vanchieri.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Thomas P. Cacchione, Sr., four sons, Thomas P. Cacchione, Jr., and his wife Tammy, Timothy P. Cacchione, and his wife Barbara, Dr. Joseph G. Cacchione and his wife Deanna, and Jon S. Cacchione and his wife Shelly, all of Erie; two sisters, Ann C. Starocci and her husband Anthony, of Erie and Margaret Diesner, of Florida; ten grandchildren, Timothy, Jr., Angela, Robert, Michael, Jamie, Abigail, Annie, Sammy, Madeline, and Joseph. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, Saturday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend services there on Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 West 26th Street, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
