Gertrude DiNicola Munch, age 83, of Erie, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Saint Vincent Center after a brief illness. She was born July 3, 1929 in Erie, a daughter of the late Peter and Mary Levis DiNicola. She lived in Erie her entire life. She was a graduate of Haborcreek High School, Class of 1947.

Gertrude had worked at Carlisle Retailers for 24 years and at Trask Department Store for 4 years.

She was a member of The Ladies Montenero Society, Legion of Mary, and a volunteer for VNA Hospice. She enjoyed playing cards.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick F. Munch; a son, Craig R. Munch; two brothers, Fred and Robert DiNicola and two sisters, Angeline Jageman and Betty Berentzen.

She is survived by her daughter, Marianne C. Stevenson and husband Timothy of Erie; a son, Frederick G. Munch of Erie; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Munch of Wayne, PA; one brother, Peter DiNicola and wife Theresa of Erie; one sister, Ann Stevens and husband Jim of Erie and seven grandchildren, Meghan, Samantha, Fred Jr., Robert, Angela, Regina and Edward. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
