Gilda Ciotti Beck

Gilda Ciotti Beck, age 81, of Erie, died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Saint Mary's at Asbury Ridge after a brief illness. She was born February 23, 1927 in Erie, a daughter of the late George and Josephine Luciano Ciotti.

She lived in Erie her entire life. She had worked as the Assistant to the County Executive. She was an active member of the Hamot Aid Society and served on the Board of the Erie County Retirees. She enjoyed golfing, traveling and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents was preceded in death by her husband, Richard R. Beck and her brother, Jon Ciotti. She is survived by one daughter, Christine B. Vitanza of Austin, Texas; two sons, Richard G. Beck of Pittsburgh, Pa. and David J. Beck of New Canaan, Conn.; two sisters, Gerrie Ciacchini and her husband Roland 'Chic" and Jeanette Bickerstaff both of Erie; one brother, George Ciotti and his wife Dorine of Houston, Texas and five grandchildren, Angelo Vitanza, Julianne, Grant, Melissa and Allison Beck. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, 816 West 26th Street, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
