Giuseppe Caesar Vercillo
Giuseppe Caesar Vercillo, age 93,of Erie, died Monday, March 11, 2013 at Elmwood Gardens. He was born March 22, 1919 in Calabria, Italy, a son of the late Ferdinando and Concetta Vercillo.
He worked at Penn Brass and Copper and owned and operated Studio Stamps and Coin. Guiseppe belonged to the Craftsmen Guild of Erie. He enjoyed cooking and was a skilled woodworker.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Fungo Vercillo, three brothers and one sister.
He is survived by one daughter, Concetta "Connie" Vercillo; two sons, Ernest "Stino" Vercillo and wife Sandi and Ferdinando "Fred" Vercillo and wife Keri all of Erie and seven grandchildren, Joseph Vercillo, Ernest J. Vercillo, Annette Musich and husband Lance, Michela Barbarino and husband Vincent, Michael Vercillo and wife Jennifer, Anthony Vercillo and wife Tiffany, and Carmen Vercillo. Also surviving are eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum.
