Jack DiLoreto

Jack DiLoreto, age 89, of Erie, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Hamot Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born February 23, 1921, a son of the late Dominick and Amelia DiPelino DiLoreto.

He served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for the City of Erie Engineering Department, retiring in 1977 and was a bartender at the Erie Maennerchor Club for many years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher T. DiLoreto; one brother, Azzio DiLoreto and three sisters, Jean Spinek, Victoria DiLoreto and Concetta Corapi.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn Taylor DiLoreto of Erie; two sons, Jeffrey T. DiLoreto of Erie and Gregory T. DiLoreto and wife Elaine of West Palm Beach, FL; a daughter-in-law, Shari DiLoreto of Erie; two sisters, Helen Stuart and husband Victor and Geraldine Ciesielski both of Erie. He is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday at Saint George RC Church, 5145 Peach Street, at 11 am. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber Foundation, 100 Barber Place, Erie, PA 16507. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling funeral arrangements.
