Jack J. Fisher Jr.

Jack J. Fisher, Jr., age 59, of Erie, died Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born January 2, 1950, in Erie, a son of the late Jack J. and Alice Mattimoe Fisher, Sr.

He was a very dedicated member of the Family Worship Center and volunteered in helping homeless people. He was President of the AFL-CIO UFCW Local One. He had worked at Quality Markets for over 25 years. He dedicated much of his time helping others.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Collins. He is survived by his wife Joyce A. Collins Fisher of Erie; two daughters, Michelle J. Carman and her husband, Mitchell and Sarah L. Carman and her husband, Michael, all of Erie; two sons, Norman and Mark Collins, both of Erie; three brothers, Darrell Fisher and his wife, Kathy, Robert Fisher and his wife, Amy, and Pat Fisher, all of Erie; and one sister, Rosemarie Hamell and her husband, Robert of Croydon, Pa. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Erie County Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
