Jacqueline J. Franz Palermo, 78, of Erie, died peacefully onWednesday, April 1, 2015 at Elmwood Gardens following an extended illness. She was born July 15, 1936 in Erie, daughter of the late Andrew and Agnes Green Franz.

Jackie attended Strong Vincent High School. She married Anthony "Tony" Palermo and worked with her husband in the family construction business. She also worked at the Cathedral Prep cafeteria for many years before retirement.

She loved to play bingo, go dancing with her husband, and play cards with her grandchildren. Her family was very dear to her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Tony Palermo; two brothers, George and David Franz and one sister, Janet Carlson.

She is survived by three sons, Rick Palermo (Cathy), Anthony Palermo (Jean), and Patrick Palermo (Betsy), all of Erie; eight grandchildren, Matt, Emily, Nicole, Alyssa, Sara, Ellyn, Anthony, and Eryn; and 10 great-grandchildren, Therese, Michael, Max, Dallas, Daymon, Molly, Hannah, Milo, Jordan, and Kira; and one great-great grandson, Isaiah. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews; a very special niece and nephew, Barbara and Michael Markel; and special friends, Patty Rich Palermo and Tony Roussos.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
