James J. Viveralli
James J. Viveralli, age 79, of Millcreek, died Thursday, February 26, 2009 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born February 5, 1930 in Erie, a son of the late Giuseppe and Assunta Fortunato Viveralli.
He served in the US Marines during the Korean War. He owned and operated along with his family Viveralli's Country Kitchen. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid baker. He also enjoyed cooking, playing cards, traveling and had a passion for ballroom dancing.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Jessie Klemm, Lena Hrinko, Rose Verno and Nancy Buffalari.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Evelyn C. Bertini Viveralli; one daughter, Linda A. Straub and her husband Bert of Erie; three sons, Ron J. Viveralli and his wife Jean of Dominica, West Indies, Jim M. Viveralli and his wife Cindy and David A. Viveralli and his wife Judith both of Waterford and two sisters, Dora Verno and Mary Ann Luke both of Erie. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Tiana, Juliana, Tony, Crystal and Angelina Viveralli, Brianna and Samantha Circle, Kayla and Jenna Guianen and Jessica and Johnathon Straub; 2 great-grandchildren, Ethan Viveralli and Leo Victorin and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Thursday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint George Church, 5145 Peach Street, at 10 am. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 3524 W 26th St., Erie, PA 16506.
