James Westcott
James "Jimmy" K. Westcott, of Erie, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023 at his residence after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 4, 1943 in Erie, a son of the late Richard Westcott and Ida Bamford Westcott Ross.
Jimmy served honorably in the National Guard for seven years. He worked as a welder at General Electric until his retirement in 2002. In 2005, after his retirement, he began working at the Greater Erie Auto Auction. He made many friends at the GEAA, but the one that stands out is Richard Licsko, a true friend right till the end. Jimmy was a "wannabe" Harley owner and enjoyed following the original Cleveland Browns and the Chicago Blackhawks. He loved family get togethers, practicing his golf swing and was a Fox News enthusiast.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Chester Pernice and his mother-in-law, Lucy Sanfratello Philip.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Jo Pernice Westcott; his children, Jordana Roses, Jennifer Reinhardt, Richard Westcott (Nikki), Christopher Snyder (Nicole), Stacie Ames (Chris), and Mark Vommaro (Emily); his sister, Lynn Richardson; grandchildren, Audrina, Christian, Gianna, Adisyn, Dani, Shaun, Christopher, Jr., Carley, and Tyler; brothers-in- law, Lenny Pernice, Andy Vavrick (Peggy), and Michael Pernice; and step mother-in-law, Sandy Pernice. He is also survived by 3 nieces, 3 nephews, 9 great nieces and nephews, 1 great great nephew and his dog Lulu.
No calling hours will be observed. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation at glioblastomafoundation.org. Arrangements are being handled by the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, Erie, PA 16502. Jimmy's family would like to extend a special heartfelt "Thank You" to Britany Stapp and Katie McIntyre of Family Hospice. These women have a special place waiting for them in heaven. Their love and compassion were beyond words. The Westcott family would also like to thank all their friends and family for their prayers, love, and support during this difficult time.
