Jane McGavisk

Jane McGavisk, age 77, of Erie, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the Dom House of LIFE-NWPA. She was born June 17, 1943 in Olean, NY, a daughter of the late William J. McGavisk and Mary Venelli McGavisk.

Jane worked at various places and for a time owned her own beauty salon "The Looking Glass."

Jane was a very caring person and did a lot of volunteer work. She especially loved animals.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis J. McGavisk and her close friend, Rev. James Peterson.

She is survived by her brother, William F. McGavisk and his wife Sandra; former sister-in-law, Winona "Noni" Bennett; nieces, Candy McGavisk, Lindsey McGrath (Ryan), and Kristen Brewer (Adam); and nephew, William D. McGavisk (Kathy). She is also survived by her very dear friend, Marci Anthony.

Friends are invited to attend a Committal Service at Calvary Cemetery, 3325 West Lake Rd., in Section 1, on Monday, January 11th at 11:00 a.m. and may also attend a Memorial Mass at Saint Joseph Church/Bread of Life Community, 147 West 24th Street, on Saturday, February 13th at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Erie Animal Network, 1158 W 26th St, Erie, PA 16508 or to Because You Care, Inc., P.O. Box 54, McKean, PA 16426. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry St., is handling arrangements.
