Janet E. Elwinger Reynolds
Janet E. "Mrs. Reynolds" Elwinger Reynolds, age 87, of Erie, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Golden Living Western Reserve. She was born January 6, 1923 in Edinboro, PA, a daughter of the late LaRue and Edith Smith Elwinger.
She lived in California for 19 years and returned to Erie in 1940. She worked for the Erie Maennerchor Club, retiring after 15 years. She was a very active and long member of Saint Stephen RC Church. She also loved to work in her yard and took a lot of pride and love in it.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Richard J. Reynolds.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith A. Turner, husband William; two sons, Richard L. Reynolds, wife Karen and Gregory S. Reynolds, wife Lisa all of Erie; six grandchildren, Gregory and Anna Reynolds, Kimberly Fachetti, husband Carlo, Marlene Wahlster, husband Michael, Michael Turner, wife Susan and Carrie Ann Krol, husband Matt and two brothers, William Elwinger, wife Maxine of Port Richey, FL and Robert Elwinger, wife Darlene of Girard. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, Karlie, Kayla, Evan, Mitchell, Ty, Ethan, Brayden and Carson, many nieces, nephews, dear neighbors and friends.
Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Tuesday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Stephen RC Church, 1237 West 21 Street, at 10 am. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
