Jeanne L. Baker Lucas

Jeanne L. Baker Lucas, age 84, of Erie, died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Erie Presbyterian Lodge after an extended illness.

She was born April 11, 1927 in Miami, Florida, a daughter of the late William S. and Grace L. Royal Baker. She lived in Erie since 1947. Jeanne is fondly remembered for her many talents in crafts, sewing, crocheting, knitting, baking and cooking the most amazing and memorable dishes. She was always ready to drive her friends or family to appointments or organize community events, Jeanne never sat still. She was loved by her fellow workers at Eckerds and A.C. Neilson, and her friends at Angelique Woods.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard G. Lucas; one son, Leonard G. Lucas II; one brother, Thomas R. Baker and two grandsons, James Feasler and Stephen A. Lucas.

She is survived by four daughters, Avis L. Lucas of Erie, Rose Ann Dahlkemper of Erie, Carol J. Feasler of Girard and Debra S. Slovich and husband James of Nokesville, VA; one son, Michael E. Lucas of McKean, PA; one sister, Mary Alice Ohlmann and husband Robert of TN. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 13 great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to charity of one's choice.
