John D. Berarducci Sr.
John D. Berarducci, Sr., 66 of Fairview, PA, died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born December 24, 1946 in Erie, a son of the late Sylvester and Lucy Rossoni Berarducci.
John graduated from Strong Vincent High School and attended Edinboro University. He was a drummer and played in many local groups and was a mentor to many of his students. He had owned and operated Johnny's Corner Bar, and more notably the Avonia Tavern. He also had worked in the trucking industry as a sales representative for many years, Albion Prison, and most recently at Millcreek School District. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren who called him Little Papa. John was well known and loved for his sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cindy L. Bush Berarducci, of Fairview; one daughter, Jaimee L. Black and her husband, Travis, of Erie; two sons, John D. Berarducci, Jr., and his wife Julie of Palmyra, PA, and Aaron D. Berarducci and his wife, Emily of Pittsburgh, PA; three sisters, Angela Dandrea, Sandra Berarducci (Phil Papotnik), and Kathleen Boetger and her husband, Timothy, all of Erie; four grandchildren, Nathan and Abby Berarducci and Brady and Tanner Black. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, family and friends and his dog Pepper.
Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend Funeral Mass on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 130 E. 4th St, Erie, PA 16507.
