John E. "Mac" McCullough

John E. "Mac" McCullough, age 81, of Millcreek died Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Hamot Medical Center.

He was born August 29, 1926 in Erie, a son of the late John Henry and J. Leora Hinton McCullough. He lived in Erie his entire life. He was a graduate of Millcreek High School, Class of 1944. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked for General Telephone Co. for over thirty years. He enjoyed playing golf and cards with his friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Natale McCullough.

He is survived by two daughters, Mary Jo Chieffe and her husband Tom of Chagrin Falls, OH and Darcy Griffith of Killeen, TX and six great-grandchildren, Meagan, Douglas, Melissa and Walker Chieffe and Nicole and Alexander Griffith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday from 2 to 5 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the John Kanzius Cancer Research Fund, c/o The Erie Community Foundation, 127 West 6th St., Erie, PA 16501 or to the charity of one's choice.
