John J. "Pags" Pagliari
John J. "Pags" Pagliari, 92, of Erie, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Millcreek Manor . He was born August 26, 1921 in Erie, a son of the late Perino Pagliari and Angela Marie DiSantis Berarducci Pagliari.
He served proudly as a radarman on the USS Belleau Wood in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked at Kaiser Aluminum for 18 years, retiring in 1983.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling and once bowled a 300 game.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Peplinski Pagliari; infant son, John Peter Pagliari; four brothers, Sylvester "Souix" Berarducci, Louis, Raymond and Joseph Pagliari; three sisters, Anna Cianflocca, Angeline Mezzacapo, and Frances Kupczyk.
He is survived by two sisters, Louise Kwitkowski and Lenore Zeisler and her husband Kenneth, all of Erie; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m.and 7 p.m. until the time of service there at 8:30 p.m. with the Rev. Jerry Priscaro and Deacon Tony Alleruzzo officiating. There will be a private burial in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
