John Nelson Schumacher

John Nelson "Jack" Schumacher, 83, of Erie, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the VA Medical Center. He was born September 28, 1931 in Erie , a son of the late Nelson John and Ann Brennan Schumacher.

He was a graduate of Academy High School.

After graduation John enlisted in the United States Army and was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division for 3 years. He then joined his father in the family business until 1966 when he became a firefighter for the City of Erie, retiring after 21 years.

He is survived by his wife Martha Trigilio Schumacher; a daughter, Stacy and her husband Dr. Ted Yeshion; loving grandson, Jacob Yeshion all of Erie and a brother, James R. Schumacher of Pensacola, FL. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Per John's wishes no calling hours will be observed. A private funeral service and burial in Calvary Cemetery will be held at the family's convenience. Arrangements are being handled by the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street.
