John W. Heeter

John W. Heeter, age 69, of Millcreek, died Friday, July 3, 2009 at his residence after a brief illness.

He was born September 11, 1929 in During, PA, a son of the late Richard and Inez Winger Heeter. He had worked at Keystone Towel Supply for 47 years, retiring in 2000. He worked at Comfort Inn for 9 years after his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Post #773 and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two infant brothers, Richard and Paul Heeter.

He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Virginia Radu Heeter; one daughter, Denise Griffin and her husband Dennis; one son, John Heeter; one step-daughter, Eva Kurilla; one step-son, Iosif Kurilla and four brothers, Ken Heeter Sr. and his wife Pat, Jim Heeter and his wife Audrey and Ron Heeter and his wife Linda all of Erie and Bob Heeter and his wife Joann of McKean. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a Funeral Service there on Tuesday at 10 am with Pastor Edward Huntley from the Federated Church officiating. Memorials may be made to the John Kanzius Cancer Research Fund, Palace Business Center, 915 State St., Erie, PA 16501 or to VNA Association of Erie County, 2253 W. Grandview Blvd., Erie, PA 16506.
