Joseph A. Presogna

Joseph A. Presogna, 79, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021. He was born March 27, 1942 in Erie, a son of the late Donato "Daniel" and Amelia D. Sambuchino Presogna.

Joseph graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1960. He was a graduate of Fredonia State University earning a BA in Music and Education. After graduation Joseph was employed as a music teacher by the Erie School District, sharing his great passion for music with thousands of students over 30 years.

Joseph was an accomplished musician who excelled at the piano. He played piano publicly for several years and enjoyed playing leisurely at home. He loved jazz, Motown, and Italian music. Other pastimes included cooking homemade Italian food, playing in summer tennis leagues with friends, and visiting with his good neighbor Steve.

Joseph is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Herman (Daryl); two granddaughters, Anna and Sarah Herman; and one sister, Carmella A. Orlando (Nick). He is also survived by many nieces. Special thanks to his aides Michelle and Bonnie, and to Chrisann, Toni, Renee, Tracie, Laura, and all of the LECOM VNA Hospice Staff, who extended love and compassion to Joseph and his family.

No calling hours will be observed. Funeral Services will be private. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., is handling arrangements.
