Joseph P. Ventura

Joseph P. Ventura, age 75, formerly of 3423 Washington Avenue, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Golden Living Western Reserve after a brief illness. He was born January 11, 1933 in Erie a son of the late Peter and Carrie Fronzaglia Ventura. He operated Ventura's Café along with his family and had worked at GE for 25 years, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed spending time in his yard. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma G. Starks Ventura and a brother, Patsy Ventura. He is survived by one daughter, Patricia J. Soggs and her husband Tracy; one son, Jeffrey J. Ventura and his wife Elisa; two sisters, Libra Klapsinos and Rosemarie Ventura and four grandchildren, Kristen Ventura, Kimberly Ventura, Erin Soggs and Abbey Soggs all of Erie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and invited to attend a service there on Wednesday at 10:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament RC Church, 1626 West 26th Street, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
