Joseph Sbarra

Joseph Sbarra, age 96, of Erie, died Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West after a brief illness.

He was born January 18, 1914 a son of the late Louis and Adelaide Bucci Sbarra. He lived in Erie most of his life.He had worked as a barber and retired from PennDOT in 1978. He was an avid gardener and a devoted husband and father.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary S. Pettinato Sbarra and one brother, Tony Sbarra.

He is survived by two daughters, Adele Erdely and husband Tony and Mary A. Sbarra both of Erie; one sister, Anna Ciotti of Erie and two granddaughters, Lisa Erdely-Causgrove and husband Tom and Mary Jo Erdely of Erie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
