Josephine Comi Venturini
Josephine "Jay" Comi Venturini, age 93, formerly of Elmwood Avenue, died Monday, July 13, 2009 at Erie Presbyterian Lodge.
She was born April 21, 1916 in Erie, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose DeSarro Comi. She lived in Erie her entire life. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and lovingly called "Nanny" by her family. Her greatest joy was being with family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Farvio "Fred" J. Venturini; three brothers, John, Ponti and Tony Comi and six sisters, Mary Sementelli, Mekina Sementelli, Grace Euliano, Antonette Valerio, Margaret Chefalo and Jeanette Valerio.
She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Loader and husband Theodore and Judy L. Zieziula and husband Dr. Ronald Zieziula; two brothers, Joseph "Pep" Comi and Armand Comi and wife Elaine all of Erie and eight grandchildren, Ronald Loader and wife Linda, Sharon Desser and husband Ron, Chris Loader and wife Julie, Sue DiSanti and husband Ted, Tim Zieziula and wife Rebecca, Kimberly Hokanson and husband Kevin, Kevin Zieziula and wife Kim and Corey Zieziula and wife Christine. She is also survived by 28 great-grandchild, three great great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Thursday at 9:30 am followed a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10 am. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 3 pm. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
