Josephine Ognibene Grignol

Josephine "Peppy" Ognibene Grignol, 89, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Saint Mary's at Asbury Ridge. She was born February 12, 1932 in Falconer, NY, a daughter of the late Jack and Carmella Orsini Ognibene.

Josephine worked for the Erie School District for 33 years, retiring in 1997.

She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends. She also enjoyed bowling and bowled in several leagues through the years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Piazza and her second husband, Albert "Poppy" Grignol and one brother, Thomas Ognibene.

She is survived by five daughters, Jeannette Dietz, Lorri L. Hulings, Jo Anne, Kathi Polaski, and Jo'Al L. Grignol; three sons, Vincent J. Piazza, Anthony E. Grignol, and Thomas J. Grignol (Lien); one sister, Grace Ann Peterson; and 14 grandchildren. She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
