Josephine T. Horvath Lachowski, age 97, of Erie, died Friday, February 15, 2008 at her residence following a brief illness

She was born March 17, 1910 in Erie a daughter of the late Peter and Anna Horvath. She lived in Erie her entire life. She enjoyed baking, gardening and crocheting. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lachowski; a son, Bernard Lachowski and a sister, Hermina Quinlan. She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn P. Chrostowski and her husband Peter of Erie; a daughter-in-law, Christine Lachowski of Erie; a sister, Mary Giambelluca of Rockledge, FL and six grandchildren, Paula Lachesky, Cheryl Pettinato, Marie Gray, Amanda Lachowski, Kenneth Chrostowski and his wife Natalie and Richard Chrostowski and his wife Laurie. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday from 6 to 9 pm and may attend a Funeral Mass on Monday at Saint Stephen RC Church, 1237 West 21st Street, at 10:00 am. Burial will be private in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Saint Stephen RC Church.
