June E. Lilliman Rummel

June E. Lilliman Rummel, age 94, of Erie, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Millcreek Manor after a brief illness. She was born July 3, 1919 in Erie, a daughter of the late Edward and Laura Loomis Lilliman and step-daughter of Emil Oliver. She lived in Erie her entire life.

June had owned and operated many family restaurants in the Erie area. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sewing.

June was a devoted mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers, John Rummel and Robert Royer.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn L. Esser and Lauren G. Flegal both of Erie; three brothers, Leslie Lilliman of MD, Gale Lilliman of TX and Lyn Lilliman of OH; six grandchildren, Colleen Sweeney Eisert, Thomas Sweeney, RaeAnn Sweeney Wolf, Tammy Flegal Ali, Robin Flegal and Carl Flegal; thirteen grandchildren, Nicole Crenshaw, Donald Sweeney, Aisha, Aquillo, Zaid, Emmal and Emaan Ali, Kimber and Jaime Bush, Alex Cirillo, Roman Eisert, Madison Schenk and Danielle Sweeney. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Nevaeh and Laina Glover, Xavier Powell, Aliyah Ramirez and Amirah Kay.

No calling hours will be observed. Friends are invited to attend a graveside committal service on Thursday at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery, 2601 Norcross Road, at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 130 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16501.
