Katherine E. Hornbek Every, age 84, of Erie, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008. She was born March 5, 1924 in Kingston, NY, a daughter of the late Calvin and Elizabeth Castle Hornbek. She had worked for the Salvation Army as an officer for many years. She enjoyed her bible and TBN Television Network.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Frederick Every Sr. ; an infant daughter, Caroline; a son, Frederick Every Jr. and a sister, Lori Bonsted. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Bowser and her fiancé Rex Baker of Erie; one son, Calvin Every and his wife Donna of Kingston, NY and a special granddaughter, Shelley A. Bowser and her fiancé Erik Keith of Erie. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

No calling hours will be observed. A private service will be held at the family's convenience. Memorials may be made to the John Kanzius Cancer Research Fund, Palace Business Center, 915 State St., Erie, PA 16501. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.
