L. Tim Brugger

L. Tim Brugger passed away on August 7th , 2007 at his residence. He was born on May 19, 1928, the son of the late Charles H. and Gertrude Schaaf Brugger.

Tim was a graduate of East High School. He attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Tim was a partner at Brugger Home for Funerals for 41 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. George Church, where he was an usher and served on many committees throughout the years. Tim was also a member of the Erie Yacht Club, where he enjoyed sailing his boat, the “Six B’s”. He was a lifetime member of the East Erie Turners, the Zukor Club and the Times Old Newsies. He was a former member of the Erie County Funeral Directors Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Maryan Curina, Betty McCloskey, Regina “Sis” Niemic and Midge Cooney and two brothers: Mark and James Brugger.

Tim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia Coughlin Brugger. He is further survived by his four daughters: Susan Krakovsky and her husband Joseph of Jackson, NJ; Michele Brugger Orlando and her husband John of Erie; Bridget Brugger McSorley and her husband Patrick of Harrisonburg, VA; and Trish Iovino and her husband Paul of Wexford, PA. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Kailey and Michael Orlando, Brooke Krakovsky, Morgan McSorley and Finnegan Iovino. Further survivors include his sister, Paula Guerrein of Erie, his brother, Paul and his wife MaryAnn, also of Erie. Tim has 19 nieces and nephews, 37 great nieces and nephews and 8 great-great nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. George Church, 5145 Peach Street. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery.
