Lillian Ventresca Nielsen

Lillian Ventresca Nielsen, age 86, of Millcreek, died Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Millcreek Community Hospital. She was born February 22, 1922 in Rocca Pia, Italy, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Cavicchio Ventresca.

She had lived in Erie most of her life. Lillian was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was a long time member of Our Lady of Peace Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Nielsen and one brother, John Ventresca. She is survived by three daughters, Kathy Frawley and her husband, Leo of Erie, Brenda Nieslen, of Erie, and Ann Rood, Albion, PA; one brother Joseph Ventresca and his wife, Mary of Erie, two sisters, Rose Jagta and Mary Ventresca, both of Erie, and one sister-in-law, Arlene Ventresca, of Erie. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend a service there on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church, 2401 West 38th Street at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
