Louis DiLoreto

Louis DiLoreto, 96, of Erie, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023 at home with loving family by his side. He was born in Erie on December 1, 1926, a son of the late Pasqualino and Mary Francesconi DiLoreto.

Lou was a World War II Veteran. He was always quick to make a joke. His mind was sharp and he was good keeping everyone on their toes. He enjoyed visiting with family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. His favorite past time was watching and betting on the horses. He could always tell a story about the good old days at the track and bets he won and lost.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Corsi DiLoreto; three brothers, Albert DiLoreto, Raymond DiLoreto, and Guido DiLoreto.

Survivors include Robert (Patricia) DiLoreto, Buffalo, NY, Judith DiLoreto, Erie, PA, Richard (Jane) DiLoreto, Erie, PA, Albert DiLoreto (James), Vernon, CT, and Mary Jane DiLoreto (Michael Bloom), Jupiter, FL. Twelve grandchildren: Robert DiLoreto II, Heather (Mark) VanZandt, Ashley (Kevin) Brooks, Allison (Christopher) Parrino, Siera DiLoreto, Nicolina (Dan) Pierce, Elizabeth (Ryan) Hebner, Jessica (Jeffrey) Bagnoni, Tessa (Patrick) Staab, Richard (Angela) DiLoreto II, Victoria Vicary, and Cassandra Vicary and 24 great-grandchildren. He will lovingly be remembered as Dad, Daddy, Papa and Papa-Louie.

Arrangements are being handled by the John R. Orlando Funeral Home. Private interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of a memorial service, contributions can be made in his late wife's name, Theresa DiLoreto, to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org or to the Veterans Miracle Center of Erie, www.vmcerie.org.
