Louise Pauline Giliberto Karpinski

Louise Pauline (Giliberto) Karpinski, age 88, of Erie, Pa passed away on July 9, 2018 at Edinboro Manor.

Louise was born in Meadville, Pa on December 17, 1929, the daughter of Frederick and Josephine (Casolaro/Cavnola) Giliberto. She married Edward T. Karpinski, who preceded her in death on February 15, 1999.

She graduated from Meadville High School. She worked at Malleable Iron, St Luke's Catholic Church and French St Diary and was also a homemaker. As a teenager, she worked at Kroger and Marx Toys.

She was a member of the Happy Tappers and was the treasurer for many years. She loved all things dancing, both watching and performing. She loved listening to Michael Buble. Hobbies included doing pottery and crocheting. She enjoyed visiting her daughter and son-in-law in Florida. She was member of St. Stanislaus & St Luke Catholic Churches.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda A. Hedges and her husband Mark of Port St Lucie, FL, a sister, Mary Berry of Meadville, Pa, brothers, Joseph Giliberto & Frank Giliberto of Meadville, Pa, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the many caregivers & staff at Edinboro Manor& Heartland Hospice who helped Louise including her former roommate at Edinboro Manor, Lois Shelhamer who provided such loving care and support. Also, former caregivers, Barb Connor & Barb Peacock of Home Instead Senior Care, who took great care of Mom, prior to her becoming a resident of Edinboro Manor July 2016.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her aunt, Angelina Mazza, brothers, Jim, Robert & Frederick Giliberto, and her son, Gary J. Karpinski.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., on Thursday from 11 am till time of service there at 1 pm. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum.
