Mabel A. Campanelli Sockett
Mabel A. Campanelli Sockett, 99, of Erie, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center. She was born March 23, 1922 in Conneaut, OH, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Pizzi Campanelli.
Mabel was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School.
She worked as an office manager at Strong Vincent High School for over 25 years.
Mabel was an avid golfer, bowler, and card player. She was President of the Erie Golf Auxiliary in 1957.
She enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael A. Sockett; two brothers, Vincent and Louis Campanelli; and two sisters, Angela Dea Picano and Lucille Mancini.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen L. Vomero (Ronald); son, Michael A. Sockett (Ginny); grandchildren, Dean Vomero (Crista), Christine Vomero Sickert (Fred), Michael J. Sockett (Amanda), and Dan N. Sockett (Lisa Esper); and 4 great-grandchildren, Connor and Emma Vomero and Evan and Owen Sockett. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday at Saint Paul Church, 1617 Walnut Street, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mabel's family would like to thank Sarah Reed for all their care and kindness.
