Marc A. Yates

Marc A. Yates, 47, of Erie, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, April 23, 2021 at UPMC Hamot. He was born June 8, 1973 in Erie, a son of Daniel E. and Natalie A. Cacchione Yates.

Marc was a 1991 graduate of McDowell High School. He graduated from Western Michigan University where he was a member of Phi Sigma Pi Fraternity. He then earned his MBA from Gannon University.

Marc had worked in pharmaceutical sales was currently a sales representative with Gannett Publishing.

Marc had a great drive to accomplish any goal he set for himself throughout his life whether it be professionally, spiritually, or athletically. He was a very accomplished martial artist, earning a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Taekwondo. He took his inspiration from his grandmother Emma who told him to be the "Best Karate Kid he could be".

Above all else, Marc was a proud father and his love for his children was endless.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Brianna Yates; son, Zachary Waggoner; and two brothers, Jeff Yates (Kimmie) and Bryan Yates. He is also survived by three nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Monday at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services and burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery will be private.
