Marcella Z. Ryan Barczynski

Marcella Z. Ryan Barczynski, 90, of Erie, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 22, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Marcella graduated from Academy High School and dedicated her life to caring for her children, grandchildren and family. She and her husband John were founding members of Our Lady of Peace Parish. She enjoyed fishing, bocce, playing cards with her family, and was an avid football and tennis fan. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their many sporting activities. She loved having fun with her daughters and granddaughters, particularly taking trips to the casino.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John Barczynski; her brother, Virgil Ryan; two sisters, Charlotte and Rita Ryan; and grandson Jacob Neff.

She is survived by five daughters, Marsha Niebauer (Donald), Charlotte Deitch (Daniel), and Jennifer Kehl (Steven), all of Erie, Mary Neff (Lane) of North East PA, and Carol Novisk (Terry), of Norfolk,Virginia; and one son, John Barczynski, of Yuma,Arizona; 16 grandchildren, Lesley Fortebraccio (David), Laurie Niebauer, Lisa Morgan (George), Dennis Deitch (Jerilyn), Mary Deitch, Louis, Joseph and Ricki Lynn Neff, Taylor and Trevor Novisk, Amanda, Samantha and John Barczynski II, and Emily, Steven and Alyssa Kehl.

Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Ella and Jack Deitch, David Fortebraccio, Olivia and Alicia Morgan, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and may attend a service there on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, 2401 West 38th Street at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery.
