Marcyanna M. Dembinski Bongiorno

Marcyanna "Marcia" M. Dembinski Bongiorno, 78, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at her daughter's home.

She was born in Erie on January 24, 1939, a daughter of the late Vincent and Rose Moras Dembinski.

Marcia went back to school at the age of 50 to become and LPN and worked at many nursing homes throughout the city until the age of 70.

Marcia enjoyed travelling, especially to Disney World at least 14 times or more. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She became an associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph in 2011. But most of all she is best known for her pizzelles. She would make 100-120 dozen at Christmas and give them out as gifts. She loved making people happy through her pizzelles.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Louis C. Bongiorno in 1987 and her son Joseph V. Bongiorno in 2013.

She is survived by her daughter, Rose A. Ronzitti (Basil) of Erie; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Bongiorno of Downingtown, PA; three grandchildren, Anthony L. Ronzitti and Nicholas M. and Andrew L. Bongiorno, both of Downingtown, PA; and very dear friends Helen Abbey and Eileen Marinelli.

Marcia's family would like to thank Daniel DiMarco, D.O. and his staff at the St. Vincent Wound Center for the care she received and all their efforts to alleviate the pain she endured this past year.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Thursday at St. John the Baptist RC Church, 509 East 26th Street at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
