Margaret Innocenzi Salchli
Margaret Innocenzi Salchli, age 85, resident of Abington Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 there.
She was born February 24, 1923 in Villa S. Angelo, Italy, a daughter of the late Michael and Maria Esterina Roselli Innocenzi. She lived in Erie most of her life. She was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School. She had worked at Firch Bakery, Boston Store and Kline Department Store. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts at Saint John the Baptist RC Church and worked in their cafeteria.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Lino Innocenzi and a great great-granddaughter, Samantha Kobusinski.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Smith and her husband Paul, Dedrea Korytowski and her husband Edward and Margaret Necci and her husband Frank; two sons, Stuart Salchli and his wife Joanie and Frederick Salchli and his wife Robin all of Erie; three sisters, Helen Morasco of Erie, Val Gallo of Conroe, TX and Marie Tavani and her husband Robert of Erie. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Monday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
