Marie E. Varraux Thomas

Marie E. "Dee Ma" Varraux Thomas, age 98, formerly of Granada Apartments died Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Manchester Presbyterian Lodge.

She was born September 10, 1909 in Donora, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late August and Ernestine Bernard Varraux. She was a member of Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed cooking, homemaking, reading and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew T. Thomas; a son, Andrew R. Thomas MD; a grandson, David A. Thomas and a brother, Irvin Varraux She is survived by her daughter, Judy A. Fleger and her husband Karl A. of Erie; a daughter-in-law, Colleen Thomas of Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren, Holly Waychoff, Matthew Thomas, Cindi Thomas and Benjamin Thomas. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren and two nephews, Terry Varraux and Alan Varraux MD.

Friends are invited to attend call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday at 10:30 am at Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Church until the time of service there at 11:00 am Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
