Marjorie McClean Kanyar

Marjorie McClean Kanyar, 83, of Erie, passed away, Monday August 1, 2016 at her residence after an extended illness. She was born November 12, 1932 in Erie, a daughter of the late William and Dorothy Devere McClean.

She enjoyed bowling, bocce, ceramics and crafts, her card club, and was a member of the Red Hat Ladies Society, Seibenbuerger Club Ladies Auxilliary, Sunflower Club and the Nuova Aurora Club.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Henry J. Kanyar; two sons, Keith W. Kanyar and Ronald L. Kanyar; and two sisters-in-law, Rose M. Ziegler and Ann M. Hunt.

She is survived by two sons, James H. Kanyar (Donna Twichel) of Erie and Richard A. Kanyar (Bonnie) of West Hartford, CT; two daughters, Kathleen D. Barone (Daniel) of Harleysville, PA and Isabella R. McCarthy of Erie. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Service there on Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Committal Service at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 3325 West Lake Road.
