Martin R. Conner

Martin R. "Marty" Conner, age 63, of Erie died Monday, October 15, 2012 at Millcreek Community Hospital after an extended illness. He was born November 26, 1948 in Erie, a son of the late Claud and Mildred Martin Conner.

Martin had worked at Erie Forge and Steel for 34 years.

He enjoyed shooting pool, darts, old movies, and spending time with his family and best friends, Stub and Debbie.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Dorothy Thompson, and two sons, Martin Conner, Jr. and Ricky Conner.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cheryl A. Orsini Conner; two daughters, Tina Stratton and Marcia Jones and companion Cynthia; three sons, Richard Conner and wife Susan, Matthew Conner and wife Carrie, and Timothy Conner; a foster father, Jack Babcock all of Erie; three brothers, Matthew Garris and Mark Garris both of Parker, PA and James Conner of Somerset, PA, and four sisters, Maxine Wells of Manchester, PA, Deborah Hoff and Cheryl Lapinski and husband John both of York, PA and Melody Littlefield and husband Eric of Erie. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a Graveside Funeral Service on Saturday at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 4523 Love Road at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
