Mary A. Veshecco, age 83, formerly of 2518 Poplar Street, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Abington Crest Nursing Center.

She was born August 29, 1923 in Reynoldsville, PA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lucia Santora Veshecco. Mary worked for over 40 years as a dedicated and loyal employee at the G.C. Murphy Co., in the West Erie Plaza. She enjoyed word puzzles, cookbooks and films from the 30's and 40's.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, James, John, Fred, Mike and Leo Veshecco.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Leo (Frances) Veshecco and Mrs. Michael (Bettie) Veshecco, both of Erie and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, an Independent Care Group Affiliate, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Saint Paul's Neighborhood Free Clinic, 1608 Walnut Street, Erie, PA 16502.
