Mary Ann Jagta Ventresca

Mary Ann Jagta Ventresca, 86, of Georgia, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in Lithia Springs Georgia. She was born March 9, 1930, in Corry, PA, a daughter of the late Caroline Rys Jagta. She lived and worked in Erie for most of her life before moving to Georgia after the passing of her husband in 2011.

Mary enjoyed baking, tending to her roses, playing cards with friends and family, and taking long walks at Presque Isle State Park with her beloved husband of 61 years.

In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husband, O. Joseph Ventresca; her son, Gary J. Ventresca; three brothers, Andrew, Frank and John Jagta; and two sisters, Judy Summerson and Regina Webster.

She is survived by one sister, Leona Besecker of Nevada, three daughters, Doreen A. Gladis (Tom), Gayann M. Burrell (Mike), and Renee M. Malstrom (John) all of Georgia; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Mass on Monday at Sacred Heart Church, 816 West 26th Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Saint Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
