Mary Donofrio Reidel

Mary Donofrio Reidel, age 82, formerly of West 39th Street, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 after a brief illness at Saint Mary's at Asbury Ridge.

A lifelong resident of Erie she was born April 24, 1927, a daughter of the late John and Theresa Marucci Donofrio. She had worked at Scolio's Fruit Market for over 20 years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, classic movies and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Reidel and one brother, Mark Donofrio.

She is survived by one daughter, Teresann Greissinger and husband Glen of Ringoes, NJ; one son, Glenn Reidel and wife Susan of Brookfield, WI; two sisters, Phyllis Lombardi and husband Arthur of Erie and Joann Brosnan and husband Gary of Atlanta, Ga. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jennifer Reidel (Walter Schamber), Kimberly Lohr (Murray), Ryan Greissinger and Robert Greissinger and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Wednesday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint George Church, 5145 Peach Street, at 10 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Independence Court and Saint Mary's at Asbury Ridge for the wonderful care that was given to their mother during her illness.
