Mary Grace Riazzi Szumigala

Mary Grace Riazzi Szumigala, age 64, of West 38th Street died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Saint Vincent Health Center after an extended illness.

She was born May 25, 1944 in Erie, a daughter of the late Carmen and Phyllis Visale Riazzi. She lived in Erie her entire life. She was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School class of 1962. She was the owner and operator of Teresa's Italian Deli.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Bernard "Ben" Szumigala Jr. of Erie; one daughter, Teresa Szumigala of Erie; one son, Bernard Szumigala III of Erie; one brother, Carmen Riazzi and his wife Ann of Dayton, OH and two sisters, Flo Russo and her husband Pete of Erie and Geraldine Puskar and her husband Ron of Pittsburgh. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Saturday at 12:30 pm followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 West 17th Street, at 1pm. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
