Mary Jane Gentile Petrianni
Mary Jane Gentile Petrianni, 92, of Erie, died Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Fairview Manor following an extended illness. She was born April 22, 1922 in Erie, a daughter of the late Donato and Carmela Rotolo Gentile.
She was an employee of Fergie's Catering and a Majority Inspector for the Election Board. She was the first "Female Lion" member in Erie, and was a member of the National Shrine of St. Jude. Her greatest pleasure came from cooking and baking for her family, and having the entire family gathered at her house.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter P. Petrianni; a brother, Joseph and five sisters, Edith, Antoinette, Anne, Pauline and Josephine.
She is survived by two sons, Paul D. Petrianni (Connie), West Springfield, PA, and Peter P. Petrianni II of Erie; and one daughter, Patricia A. Mahan (Jim) of Fairport, NY. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Sean (Ann) Mahan, Brendan (Jill) Mahan, Megan (Jon) Barry, Lindsay (Michael) McShane, Danielle (Scott) Petrianni, Peter (Amy) Petrianni, and Paul Jude Petrianni ; ten great-grandchildren, Isabella, Dylan, Avery, Jake, Julia, Madeline, Preston, Emily, Lenox and Josephine; and daughter-in-law, Karen Petrianni.
Friends are invited a Memorial Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 West 26th Street, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
