Mary L. LaRiccia Morrocco
Mary L. LaRiccia Morrocco, age 83, died Saturday, December 28, 2013 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born September 19, 1930 in Erie, a daughter of the late Louis and Francis Chiapazzi LaRiccia.
She had worked at Zehe's Bakery and had been the Dietary Supervisor at LEIR for twenty-two years. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and was known for making 100 dozen cookies for St. Paul's Festival.
She was preceded in death by a her husband James V. Morrocco, brother, Frank LaRiccia and a sister Carmella Arndt.
She is survived by her son Michael L. Morrocco of Erie; two brothers, Urban LaRiccia wife Rosalie of Rancho Santa Fe, CA and Anthony LaRiccia of Erie and two sisters, Vince Smith of Erie, and Adeline "Cookie" Tucker of Everett, WA. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 9:30 a.m.
Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Mary's family would like to give special thanks to her caregiver Veronica Hamilton and Hospice nurse Mary Pollard.
