Mary LaPlaca Trask

Mary LaPlaca. Trask, age 81, of West 5th Street, died Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Lodge after a brief illness.

She was born July 6, 1928 in Erie, a daughter of the late Vito and Josephine DiAngi LaPlaca. She lived in Erie most of her life. She loved Christian hymns and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a model of true commitment and a woman of virtue.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death her husband, Douglas A. Trask, a brother, Anthony LaPlaca and a granddaughter, Ashley Moses.

She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl R. Mayer and husband Thomas of Florida and Susan A. Bissonette and husband Dale of Ohio; two sons, Timothy D. Trask and Roger H. Trask both of Erie and four brothers, John, Charles, Joseph and Sam LaPlaca and one sister, Rose Pistone all of Erie. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday evening from 6 pm until time of Funeral Service there at 8:30 pm. Private burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Erie County Diabetes Association, 1128 State St. Suite 302, Erie, PA 16501.
